CyberDMG's role on the JD Sports Project

Brief

  • JD Sports has long been established as the leading UK retailer of fashionable Sports and Casual Wear and has a reputation for being a highly innovative visual merchandiser.
  • JD Sports were preparing for a major rebranding of their stores and required a refresh of the JD Sports site to enrich the customer experience and the ability to manage the online platform.
  • CyberDMG delivered a strategic and flexible e-commerce platform to support JD Sport's desire for sales growth through multiple sites
  • The solution must support all functionality included in the existing JD Sports e-commerce platform
  • Delivery of an enhanced customer service capability was also considered critical

Deliverables

  • Business requirements definition and technical solution design
  • Front end, CSS and HTML development for both the JD Sports and Size? sites to exacting standards
  • E-commerce development of the stores utilising the IBM WebSphere platform
  • Development of custom marketing features such as Latest Gear, Most Wanted, Others Also Bought, Competitions, Top Tens, Coming Soon and brand microsites
  • Development of a customer service application providing security, returns and exchange functionality
  • Integration to third party suppliers involving Scene7, QAS, Bibit, PayPal, Omniture, Coremetrics and multiple affiliates
  • Integration to existing JD retail platforms for product, price and inventory management as well as order processing and fulfilment
  • Testing of the front end as well as the fully integrated solution
  • Performance testing
  • Data Migration of customer and order data from the existing e-commerce platform
  • Project governance facilitated by experienced e-commerce Project Managers with a focus on the planning, coordination and the successful delivery of the project
